Brian May reveals Queen's first thoughts about their Live Aid performance: "It was actually okay."

“At the time, we weren’t aware of how epic it was,” says Brian

In the dictionary of world music, the expression "legendary show" could be accompanied by a simple definition and event: Queen 1985 Live Aid festival , but that's not how the band interpreted the performance at the time.

In an interview with TalkRADIO , guitarist Brian May talks about his experience seeing the concert recreated for the film Bohemian Rhapsody , “It was very strange to kind of relive that for the film. They recreated it so incredibly faithfully, and being there on that set was spine-chilling, it brought everything back.”

“And at the time, we weren’t aware of how epic that was, seriously. We left there like, ‘Well, that was okay.’ But we didn’t realize we had made such a lasting impression… it kind of lives on, doesn’t it?” he reflects.
